The Farmington River Steward Program
The Farmington River Steward Program focuses on outreach by:
- Educating people about river conservation.
- Explaining how most areas are 'Pack out What You Pack In" and what "No Glass, No Trash" means.
- Helping all users interact better with each other on the river.
- The River Steward Team is also a source of information on various topics (i.e. fishing regulations), warns people of threats to the river (i.e. didymo), participates in other FRCC projects like invasive removal, and teaches the younger generation about the importance of the river through the Junior River Ranger program, Barkhamsted summer camp, and the Steward Lecture Series.
